Type of Position: Permanent (part-time)
Start Date: July 7th, 2025
Hours and Wage: 10 to 20 hours per week; $25.03/hour
Working in collaboration with the GSA’s Executives, notably the Vice-President Mobilization, as well as the Council of Directors, the Communications Manager & Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the GSA’s communications and mobilization/outreach activities. These include, but are not limited to, maintaining the GSA’s website and social media channels, producing newsletters, and other materials (flyers, posters, etc.) as required, as well as organizing and participating in mobilization/outreach activities such as class visits, flyering, and postering.
Responsibilities:
Produces newsletters sent to the GSA membership (at least one per month, more if required);
Maintains and updates the GSA’s website;
Manages the GSA’s social media accounts;
Produces physical and electronic media as required;
Manages the GSA’s electronic archive;
Produces a semesterly Outreach Plan;
Organizes and participates in mobilization/outreach activities including, but not limited to, class visits, flyering, and postering.
May assist the Vice-President Internal with the recruitment and interviewing of committee applicants and graduate student representatives to the University bodies;
Monitors the performance of the GSA representatives and makes recommendations to the Vice-President Internal when necessary;
Works with fee levy groups to support their mandates and GSA mandates;
Supports the organization of General Assemblies;
Essential Requirements:
Proven work experience in communications or a similar field;
Excellent spoken and written English;
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
Ability to work independently and in a team environment;
Proactive attitude;
Strong problem-solving skills;
Strong technological literacy;
General knowledge of Concordia University and GSA;
Must be a currently enrolled as a graduate student at Concordia University;
Must be authorized to work in Canada (valid SIN required).
Must be a GSA member at the time of hiring;
Assets:
Working proficiency in French;
Experience utilizing Google Workspace in a professional setting;
Experience in managing social media channels;
Experience with Mailchimp;
Experience in web design, especially WordPress, is a major asset;
Experience in graphic design.

Notes:
Applicants cannot hold an elected or appointed position in the GSA (Executive, Director, EJC member, etc.) or have held such a position in the last three (3) years;
Open to all GSA members (internal candidates shall have preference as per the collective agreement);
Interviews will be held on June 26th, June 27th, June 30th, and July 2nd
Work will be performed in-person at the GSA House (2030 Mackay)
