We are a Montreal-based award-winning film and television production company and are offering a paid internship for a local BIPOC community member who would like to train as a researcher / writer on a factual 6-part, 60-minute true-crime series. This is a great opportunity and learning experience for anyone who is already studying or working in film and television, or journalism — especially those who aspire to work in the documentary genre.
The intern would work with Story Producers and assist them in their jobs finding stories, creating timelines for story events, sitting in on pre-interviews, taking notes, ordering police reports and court exhibits, learning how to create research reports, sourcing relevant articles and archival elements to help tell the stories, etc.
The position is being offered to members of equity-deserving groups only. The candidate must be Montreal based, and have excellent English writing and speaking skills.
Priority will be given to those studying or working in the field of television, film, and / or journalism.
Schedule: Ideally starting May 5; 10-12 weeks, part time, 2-3 days per week.
