Shared Bylines is a scholarship and mentorship program backed by seasoned journalists who know breaking into the industry is no easy task, especially for Black Canadians, Indigenous peoples and other people of colour.
Shared Bylines is for BIPOC students enrolled in a current or upcoming postsecondary program anywhere in Canada. Scholarship recipients will receive at least $3,000. A larger cohort of applications will be partnered with at least one BIPOC journalist who will provide mentorship for the academic school year. Everyone who applies will join our community for the academic school year.
Additionally, Shared Bylines offers The David Brown Scholarship for a student enrolled in a post secondary program or a recent grad, living with a disability.
