Profs. Kristy Snell, Amélie Daoust-Boisvert, and Elyse Amend in the Department of Journalism are seeking two undergraduate Research Assistants (RAs) to contribute to an Open Educational Resource (OER) project during the Winter 2026 semester. Each position offers 110 hours at $20/hour.
This project’s goal is to adapt existing resources to a style guide focused on Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (EDIA) and inclusive journalism practices, aimed at students, instructors, and working journalists. The resource is intended to provide guidance on evolving language and help users understand the historical and sociocultural origins of key terms, the reasoning behind inclusive language choices, and the importance of representation.
